These various food safety issues, like the current global financial crisis, have swept across the entire land, causing serious impacts on people's lives and health, and also touching everyone's hearts.
There are indeed food safety issues around us. My hometown in the countryside is rich in edible mushrooms. I remember the last time I came home, I visited the entire process of making shiitake mushrooms. When my uncle and I walked into the mushroom shed together, a warm current with the flavor of shiitake mushrooms came towards us. Uncle told me that this is the place where shiitake mushrooms are made and demonstrated the production process to me. I saw my uncle and other young men working together, and I was fascinated by it, but in the end, I felt something was wrong. I saw them soaking the finished mushroom tube bags in paraffin liquid. Uncle told me that soaking in paraffin not only ensures that the mushroom sticks do not rot, but also prevents water damage. After the mushrooms are fully grown, it also ensures that the moisture in the mushrooms is not lost, which has a good preservation effect. After listening to their introduction to the effects of paraffin, I became increasingly uneasy about the word "paraffin" and decided to figure it out.
The first thing I did when I got home was to turn on my computer and search for knowledge about paraffin wax with all my might. I finally understand its true face. Originally, wax is an industrial product, also known as industrial paraffin. It is a complex chemical composition, and the hazardous component it contains is mainly benzene, which is a very harmful substance to the human body. Experts point out that it is the main culprit of human skin cancer and lung cancer. After reading the introduction, I was surprised to find out that this is the strictly prohibited "wax mushroom" advertised on television. Seeing this, I finally understand that these mushroom farmers, in order to make a lot of money and pursue maximum self-interest, put industrial paraffin into the production of edible mushrooms to create poisonous mushrooms. They don't know that this behavior is a criminal act. It not only affects people's lives and health, but if these mushrooms are exported abroad, it will also cause diplomatic disputes and damage our country's international image. They should not do this.
It turns out that food safety issues happen all around us and may be happening to us, posing a threat to our health. I think our country should attach great importance to the issue of food safety. Only by strengthening legislation and strict law enforcement can we prevent the occurrence of these problems. As elementary school students, we should also actively participate in the promotion of food safety, so that more people can understand the hazards of food safety, resist pesticide food, chemical food, and problematic food. Only in this way can food safety go hand in hand with our health.
